Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival
It is spring and it is the perfect time of the year where most parts of South Korea are covered with white and pink flowers and festivals are held for these gorgeous blooms. There are two main festivals in Seoul namely: the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival which I will be sharing in this post and the Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival on the next article.
A lot of Koreans and foreigners go out of their way to catch these flowers in full bloom since they only last a week or two.
With that said, the crowd was crazy and the paths were teeming with people.
No need to worry if you get hungry because the sidewalks are also filled with food vendors and fresh-off-the-grill snacks. Yum!
Some vendors were selling these handmade strewn flowers which were so cute!
A stage was set for performances and there was a Korean group singing a medley of Abba’s hit like Mama Mia, etc.
Some performers were on the side of the street showing amazing magic tricks
Some were also a feast for the ears and the eyes…
The flowers were so luscious and people can’t stop taking selcas.
The Han River is fascinating in the background as well. People also have the option to go on a cruise tour along the Han River after the cherry blossom festival.
Over-all, the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival is a must-see and even if you are not a fan of big crowds, the beauty of nature will compensate for that and more.
